Global and Regional Orders: Hybrid Authoritarianism and Change.

This cluster explores the development of rising states and the ways in which they contend with existing orders: how social and political systems are established, governed, transformed, destroyed, and how they interact with one another. It draws on data and conceptual insights derived from different empirical contexts to explore how orders at the global and regional levels are shaped by ideological, environmental, political, social and economic factors.  

The cluster offers a unique point of access to resources and opportunities for encouraging co-operation on research which charts the evolution of social and political systems across the world by harnessing the strengths of regional and globally comparative perspectives. 

Colleagues and PhD students within this cluster work on a range of projects in various contexts.
