Martha Stolze is an Academic Visitor hosted by Prof. Nicolette Mackovicky (REES) and Prof. Mohsen Mosleh (OII). During her research stay at the University of Oxford, she is organising and co-convening a Computational Text Analysis/ NLP mini-course for OSGA students.
In her role as a Research Associate at the Weizenbaum Institute, she studies platform algorithms and digital propaganda. Her doctoral research at Freie Universität Berlin focuses on the role of gender and sexuality/ gendered disinformation in Russian information influence, its networks and resonance in Germany, and implications for platform regulation.
Her research has been shaped by research visits of Prof. Philipp Ayoub at UCL and Dr. Philipp Darius at the Hertie School. She has presented her work at leading international conferences (APSA, EPSA, ECPR, ICA, ECREA), and has been awarded the Best Abstract Award (ECREA) and Excellent Reviewer Award (ICA). Martha has trained at the General Secretariat of the Council of the EU, worked at the NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence, and holds an MPhil in Russian and East European Studies from the University of Oxford.
