Robert Service's research interests have always covered Russian history and politics from the late nineteenth century to current affairs. In recent years he has turned towards questions of international relations, and his latest book, The End of the Cold War, 1985-1991, was published in October 2015. With his latest project he will be looking at Nicholas II, his family, entourage, guards and places of confinement after the February 1917 Revolution through to July 1918.
