I have been at Oxford since 2000 and from 2012-2015 I was Chair of the Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies. My research interests include the history of the Japanese language and general historical linguistics. He is the Director of the University’s Research Centre for Japanese Language and Linguistics and of the Oxford Corpus of Old Japanese. He is also the Immediate Past President of the European Association for Japanese Studies. More information about Professor Frellesvig can be found here.
My contribution to the masters programme will be a number of options related to Japanese Linguistics and Classical and Old Japanese language.
