Kamakshi is reading for the DPhil in Global and Area Studies (South Asia) at Wolfson College, University of Oxford. Supervised by Dr. Janaki Srinivasan, her research broadly lies in the junction of gender and contemporary digital practices in India, specifically exploring gender role conformity, divergence, and representation through food blogging narratives.
Kamakshi graduated with a First Class in BA History Honours from Lady Shri Ram College for Women, University of Delhi (2021), where she focused particularly on the intersections of gender and historiography. In 2023, she received an MA in Gender Studies from Jamia Millia Islamia University, India, where she was ranked the Gold Medalist and was awarded the Central Scholarship for achieving the highest CGPA. She also earned a distinction in her dissertation, which examined the influence of social media on women-run micro e-businesses in the pandemic period.
She is the recipient of JRF (Junior Research Fellowship) in Women Studies which she accomplished after ranking the highest in the UGC-NET examination conducted by the Ministry of Education, India. She aspires to become an educator of digital gender narratives, integrating a south Asian perspective into the study of gender and cyberspaces.
