Giaccomo Ugarelli is pursuing his DPhil in Latin American Studies under the supervision of Dr. Eduardo Posada-Carbó and Dr. John Crabtree. He holds a master’s degree in Latin American Studies from the University of Oxford and a master’s in International Public Policy from University College London (UCL).
In 2020, Giaccomo served as Chief of Staff to President Francisco Sagasti of Peru during the transitional government, following his role as Principal Advisor to Congressman Sagasti in the Peruvian Parliament.
Giaccomo has also taught Political Science at the Universidad del Pacífico and at the Postgraduate School of Government and Public Policy of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP). He has contributed as a researcher to the Instituto de Estudios Peruanos (IEP) and co-authored the book Governing in Times of Crisis (Gobernar en Tiempos de Crisis), published in 2023 by Planeta.
