Teachers vs the Memory Hole

Project overview

The Leverhulme Early Career Fellowship supports ECRs to undertake a significant piece of original and interdisciplinary research.

Dr Branford’s project examines how curricula are developed, revised, and implemented, with a particular focus on the role of teachers within these processes. It explores how educators engage with curriculum change and the types of expertise they bring to reform processes.

Drawing on comparative case studies, the research investigates how different actors contribute to shaping curriculum policy, and how these processes unfold across institutional and national contexts. In doing so, it aims to advance understanding of how education systems evolve and how knowledge is selected, organised, and taught in schools.
