Cancellation of LAC inaugural lecture

We are very sorry to let you know that our inaugural lecture, scheduled for tomorrow, has been unexpectedly cancelled.  Due to the magnitude of the earthquake in Panama, its government has declared a state of emergency and our guest-speaker, the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, is unable to travel.

Instead of the Inaugural Lecture, the LAC will be offering a wine reception to mark the beginning of our academic year, and welcome the new students, fellows and academic visitors. This will take place in the LAC tomorrow Tuesday, 13 October, from 6.00-7.00 pm. Professor Timothy Power, the Head of the Social Science Division, will deliver some welcoming remarks.
