REES DPhil candidate, Anna J. Davis, selected as Grímsson Fellow

Anna J. Davis, REES DPhil candidate, has been selected for the Grímsson Fellowship for her project, 'Becoming Arctic: how states project Arcticness as an identity.' The Fellowship was created by the new Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson Centre in cooperation with the Arctic Circle Secretariat, UW Iceland, Háskóli Íslands, Háskólinn á Akureyri, Reykjavik University and the biotechnology company Kerecis. The aim of the Fellowship is to promote cooperation and knowledge as well as relations between international and Icelandic communities.

Anna was chosen as one of ten Grímsson Fellows from a pool of 251 applications from around 60 countries. The Fellows are invited to stay for 2-6 weeks in the House of Grímur, where President Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson was born and his family lived. The house is in the historic town of Ísafjörður, the capital of the beautiful Westfjords region in Iceland.
