Governor of Jakarta visits OSGA

On May 13th OSGA hosted the Governor of Jakarta, Anies Baswedan during his visit to Europe. Head of OSGA, Professor Gerry, welcomed the Governor to OSGA at St Antony’s College, where the Governor delivered an entertaining public lecture detailing the remarkable transformation of public transport in Jakarta during the last 5 years.

After a lively Q&A, the delegation moved on for dinner at Balliol College, where discussions continued about the potential for collaboration and cooperation with OSGA’s emerging Centre for Southeast Asian Studies. The Governor had earlier visited Oxford’s Transport Studies Unit where an MoU was signed with Transport Jakarta to support the development of mutual research and capacity building in urban transportation.
