Sara Frumento

I am an MPhil candidate in Global and Area Studies at OSGA and St Antony’s College, University of Oxford. I am Italian and I hold a BA (Hons) in European Social and Political Studies from University College London (UCL).

My primary research interests centre on the relationship between religion and politics and its impact on China and India’s economic development. In my undergraduate dissertation, I used mixed methods to unveil a negative and statistically highly significant correlation between religious affiliation and the annual GDP growth per capita and interpreted such a relationship as potentially causally relevant. It is the objective of my MPhil Thesis to prove that this co-occurrence implies causation.
