Laura Cucchi obtained her Ph.D. from the University of Buenos Aires and currently holds a position as Assistant Researcher at the Argentine National Scientific and Technical Research Council. She is Visiting Researcher at the Lateinamerika-Institut (Freie Universität Berlin) and the Latin American Center (University of Oxford) thanks to a Gerda-Henkel- Postdoctoral Grant. Her publications include Antagonismo, legitimidad y poder político en Córdoba, 1877-1880 (Bahía Blanca, 2015); "Tensions between Congress and the Executive in 19th Century Argentina: Federal Intervention and Separation of Powers", Parliaments, Estates and Representation, 37:2, 2017 (with Ana L. Romero); and "Confrontations in the Argentine Congress during state formation (1862-1880): Provincial politicians, national authorities, and the public sphere of Buenos Aires", Journal of Iberian and Latin American Studies, 29:2, 2023. Her research focuses on Argentine parliamentary politics in the late 19th century.
