I am studying the development of employment agencies and their influence on the labour market in Japan and China. I hold a B.A. in International Relations from Waseda University, Japan and an M.A. in Applied International Studies from the University of Washington, Seattle. Before coming to Oxford, I worked in the U.S. as an analyst at the Washington State Office of Minority and Women’s Business Enterprises. I have also worked at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) in Japan, Sompo Japan Insurance Inc., Nintendo of America, and Delta Air Lines. My research is supervised by Professor Hugh Whittaker, and is funded by both the Oxford Kobe Scholarship at St Catherine’s College and the Sasakawa Fund Scholarship.
