Part-time Finance Administrator - Research Post-Award

The Oxford School of Global and Area Studies (OSGA) is looking to appoint to a permanent, part-time role of Finance Administrator, 0.5FTE/18.25 hours per week. The role has been amended to support OSGA’s project activity and is a key supporting role within the Finance team and wider administration team in OSGA.

Your role will be to support the administration of research projects (post-award) to ensure they operate in line with funder terms and conditions and University regulations, that expenditure is appropriate, and that proper records are kept. You will be the School’s first point of contact in respect of all post-award matters and will coordinate project reporting. This will include producing reports for Principle Investigators (PIs) and administrators on active grants, liaising with the Finance Manager as required and you will also work with the University’s Research Accounts team in answering queries relating to externally funded research grants. t will be important to work closely with OSGA’s Research Facilitator to ensure smooth handover from pre to post award.

Reporting into the Finance Manager, you will be educated to GCSE level with Maths and English at Grade C/above (or equivalent), have previous experience of working in financial administration and good numeracy, accuracy and attention to detail. You will also have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to work independently with little supervision. You will be in a role that requires you to work to deadlines as part of a team housed in a number of different buildings within the school. Experience of working in University or other public sector environment and working with financial/database systems is desirable.
