Coming from the Northeastern part of China, I spent my undergraduate studies at SOAS University of London exploring the social, economic, and political systems in the areas in which I have no prior knowledge: Southeast Asia, Africa, and Taiwan and achieved a First in BA Politics and International Relations. Lived in China during the last full academic year taking 'flexible' education arrangement, I developed an intellectual curiosity and a comparativist mindset to seek sophisticated explanations on the historical path-dependency that drives China's current economic, social and political state and durable solutions on navigating her future reform towards a more sustainable pattern of development. My research at OSGA considers the significance of political institutions and processes leading towards divergent economic performances by constructing a comparative historical analytical framework that examines both institutions and social forces.
