Andrea Cadelograduated with a degree in Mass Communication (major) and Philosophy (minor) from the Universidad Javeriana (Colombia). She received her MA in Modern History at the Universidad Autónoma of Madrid, Spain, and completed her PhD in History at the University of Warwick. Besides her teaching experience in Colombia, she has taught at Warwick and King’s College London, where she currently is Research Fellow in the Department of Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies. Her research addresses conceptions of race in the Enlightenment, examining its construction in philosophy and natural history. It also deals with the so-called ‘Dispute of the New World’ and with Colombian intellectual history, specifically during the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
