Speakers: Maria A. Gwynn, Blavatnik School of Government and University College
Maria A. Gwynn is a Global Leaders Fellow at the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford and a Research Fellow at University College, Oxford. She was formerly a postdoctoral research fellow at the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University. Her research concerns the intersection of international law and international relations. She works on international negotiations, international treaties, the different forms of sovereignty costs derived from them and how they can be diminished. She holds an LLB (Honours) from the National University of Asuncion, a Magister Juris from the University of Oxford, and a PhD from the University of Wuppertal, Germany. She has practised law and has been a researcher at international organizations such as UNIDROIT, UNCITRAL and CAS. She has published two books, Contratos Internacionales para el sector Privado (El Lector 2007) and Power in the International Investment Framework (Palgrave Macmillan 2016).
