As India approaches its 70th anniversary of independence, the rise of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has presented cause for reflection on what his leadership means for India’s foreign policy and for the world.

In conjunction with the launch of a new special issue of International Affairs, ‘India’s rise at 70’, the guest editors and authors of the special issue debate stasis and change in Indian foreign policy under Modi and explore the broader implications of his premiership for India’s place in world politics.
