This film, Nine Years of Displacement, deals with the aftermath of Georgia-Russian War of 2008. It takes a close look at the Tserovani Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Settlement, and how people’s lives have changed since losing their homes to Russian forces. Tserovani Settlement and its population do not dwell on past misfortunes, but rather try to provide for the community’s needs, while not forgetting the past. Three teenagers Nana, Tako and Mari explain their adjustments to IDP life; its numerous disadvantages and few promising advantages.
Followed by a lunch of Georgian Khachapuri and sweets.
This event is part of the Georgian programme at REES.
