How have people been learning, practicing and knowing sexuality, gender roles and gender awareness before and after 1989? What imprint did the social and political transformations leave on historical legacies, actors and structures of sexual education? And which practical and cognitive challenges do sex educators face in Poland since then, and in comparison to other countries?

Agnieszka Kościańska is an anthropologist, an Associate Professor in the Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Warsaw, and recently Leverhulme Visiting Professor, at REES, University of Oxford. Her latest book, published by Berghahn Books in 2021, is "To see a Moose! The History of Polish Sex Education".
Paulina Wawrzyńczyk is a sexual educator for Brook, activist and speaker based in London.
