BSP Coffee and Science: Thinking together with the Guarani-Mbyá the Covid-19 vaccination in Brazil

Speaker: Dr Maria Paula Prates, Departmental Lecturer in Medical Anthropology at University of Oxford. She will present her work on Covid-19 vaccination in Brazil, through the lenses of indigenous peoples, based on work with the Guarani-Mbyá.
Dr Prates is a medical anthropologist working with Indigenous People from Lowland South America, mainly with the Guarani-Mbyá collectives from far south Brazil and Argentina. She is interested in women’s notions of person, body-territory and living well, including topics such as midwifery practices and its entanglements with the coloniality of the Anthropocene.
