Organized in cooperation between Off-University and the New University in Exile Consortium, this seminar will address the major effects of ‘rentier economies’ and natural resources on democracy and state building. It will also explore the role of natural resources in conflicts, including interstate wars, as well as the notion of the ‘resource curse’.
