The book Compressed Development: Time and Timing in Economic and Social Development, authored by D. Hugh Whittaker, Timothy Sturgeon, Toshie Okita, and Tianbiao Zhu (2020), has been shortlisted for the Alice Amsden Award of the Society for the Advancement of Socio-Economics (SASE).
SASE annually selects an outstanding scholarly book that breaks new ground in the study of economic behaviuor and/or its policy implications with regard to societal, institutional, historical, philosophical, psychological, and ethical factors. Although this is great recognition, unfortunately, the book was not chosen as the overall winner.
