On 5 July, the conference "Development in the Andes: Productivity, Social Inclusion and Democracy" took place at the Universidad Catolica San Pablo in La Paz. This was the latest conference organised with a Latin American partner as part of the agreements between CAF-Development Bank of Latin America and the LAC, and constituted a great opportunity to consider the changes in Bolivia in recent years and the challenges for the future. The conference was a great success: there were at times more than 300 people in the audience who participated in dynamic discussions on issues like economic diversification and the best ways to organise social policy (universalism vs targeting). It was a fitting way to conclude the six-year collaboration between CAF and the LAC in its current reincarnation and a fantastic opportunity to build further links with the region.
