The Sasakawa Peace Foundation (SPF) and Waseda University are currently recruiting for a Japanese fellow to take part in the third stage of an SPF-funded Oxford University research project (September 2018-September 2020).
The objectives of the project are:
- to forge complementary expertise on three or more of the Islamic countries located in the Middle East (to date the project has covered Iran, Turkey and Egypt)
- to develop research skills through cross-country teamwork
- to contribute to building an intellectual platform for the studies of the Middle East
- to foster closer academic ties between Japan and the UK at a wider scholarly and human level
