Applications invited for CSASP DPhil/MPhil Exchange with Lahore School of Economics, Pakistan

The Contemporary South Asia Programme in The School of Interdisciplinary Area Studies (SIAS) are looking for four students from Oxford University who would like to visit Lahore for one week in late March 2017. The trip is fully funded, so will include flights, accommodation, entertainment, tours of Lahore and will enable Oxford students to interact with staff and students at the Lahore School of Economics, attend the Annual Economics Conference on the 29th-30th March (see pdf below), and depending on your research interests present a seminar.

We are opening this to students with a very general background in the social sciences who are currently researching an area of potential interest to the staff and students of the Lahore School or whose future research plans may turn in some way to include Pakistan.

If you would like to chat with past and present Oxford students who have done this trip in the past you may like to contact:

Shannon Philip (International Development) shannon.philip@qeh.ox.ac.uk

Indrajit Roy (International Development) Indrajit.roy@qeh.ox.ac.uk

Karan Nagpal (Economics) karan.nagpal@jesus.ox.ac.uk

Yuge Ma (Geography) Yuge.ma@ouce.ox.ac.uk

Preference will be given to students who would not otherwise get the opportunity to visit Pakistan and for those students (MPhil or DPhil) who have already undertaken a body of original research.  Students holding Indian passports are more than welcome to apply.

Please do forward to anyone who may be interested in applying.

If you are interested or have further questions please send your cv and a 400-500 word outline of your research interests by 15th February 2017 to Matthew.McCartney@area.ox.ac.uk
