An interview about the latest drone attacks on Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant

REES DPhil Anna J. Davis (née Davidson) was recently interviewed by Public Television Company of Armenia to discuss the implications of the latest drone attacks on Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP). The interview is available here (in Armenian only).

English overview of the interview: Anna explained that Russia has occupied the NPP since March 2022, and Ukraine needs to re-gain control. Beginning on 7 April, for the first time since November 2022, Zaporizhzhia NPP was the object of direct military action, with several drone strikes targeting the facility. In the interview, Anna made the point clear that no one benefits, either militarily or politically, from attacks on a nuclear facility. Anna explained that when anyone attacks a nuclear facility, they not only endanger the people there, themselves, and everyone nearby who would be affected by a nuclear accident, but attacking an NPP also affects the rules that everyone accepts. There will never no longer be a first time. A precedent has been set, and that is very dangerous.
